Fulton County Tourism generates $9.6 million economic impact in 2025

Fulton County's tourism industry continues to be a significant contributor to the local economy, generating $9.6 million in visitor spending during 2025, according to the newly released Economic Impact of Tourism in Kentucky 2025 report commissioned by the Kentucky Department of Tourism and conducted by Tourism Economics.
The report shows that tourism in Fulton County supported 80 local jobs, produced $1.7 million in labor income, and generated approximately $730,000 in state and local tax revenue.
"These numbers demonstrate the important role tourism plays in our local economy," said Fulton Tourism Director Kenney Etherton. "Every visitor who comes to Fulton County helps support local businesses, creates jobs, and contributes to the quality of life enjoyed by our residents. We are proud of our unique attractions, festivals, outdoor recreation opportunities, and the hospitality that makes visitors feel welcome."
Fulton County continues to attract visitors through annual events such as the Banana Festival, local historical attractions, outdoor recreation opportunities, and communityevents that showcase the region's culture and heritage.
Tourism remains a vital industry throughout Kentucky, where visitor spending reached $14.6 billion statewide, supporting nearly 97,000 jobs and generating $1.1 billion in state and local taxes.
"Our goal is to continue building on this momentum by promoting Fulton County as a destination for travelers seeking authentic experiences, family-friendly events, and small- town hospitality," Etherton added. "We appreciate the support of our local businesses, community partners, and volunteers who help make tourism successful in Fulton County."
