Harris currently in custody on charges of attempted murder

UPDATE: According to the South Fulton Police Department, Derek Shea Harris voluntarily surrendered himself Thurs., July 9 and is currently in custody on charges of attempted murder.

Original story: The South Fulton Police Department is seeking assistance in locating Derek Shea Harris.  Harris was involved in a shooting on Tues., July 7, 2026, during the evening hours at a motel on West State Line.  He should be considered armed and dangerous.  Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact the South Fulton Police Department at (731) 479-1311..
