SFMS Red Devils defeat Gleason 46-0, finish season 7-1

The South Fulton Middle School Red Devils closed out their season in dominant fashion Thurs., Oct. 1, rolling past the Gleason Middle School Bulldogs, 46-0.
South Fulton wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, with Kade Clanton breaking loose for a 63-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. The two-point conversion was unsuccessful.
Clanton struck again later in the opening quarter, scoring on a 52-yard run. Holden Crabtree added the two-point conversion to give the Red Devils a 14-0 advantage.
The Red Devils continued to pull away in the second quarter. Clanton scored his third rushing touchdown of the night on a 43-yard run, with Crabtree adding another two-point conversion to make it 22-0.
Crabtree then found the end zone on a 50-yard touchdown run, followed by a successful two-point conversion from Clanton, sending South Fulton into halftime with a 30-0 lead.
South Fulton added to its advantage in the third quarter when Crabtree connected with Clanton on a 40-yard touchdown pass. Jamariee Eaton added the two-point conversion, pushing the lead to 38-0.
Eaton capped the scoring in the fourth quarter with a 45-yard touchdown run. Gavin Adams scored the two-point conversion to complete the 46-0 shutout.
Clanton led the Red Devils' rushing attack with seven carries for 197 yards and three touchdowns. Eaton added 63 yards on four carries, while Crabtree rushed twice for 43 yards and a touchdown. Isaac Jackson had one carry for 20 yards, Abe Morris carried once for three yards and Adams had one carry for minus-2 yards.
Through the air, Crabtree completed 1 of 2 passes for 40 yards, with Clanton recording the lone reception for 40 yards and a touchdown.
Morris led South Fulton defensively with seven tackles. Crabtree and Eaton each recorded six tackles, while Gavin Goldbeck and Clanton added five apiece.
With the victory, South Fulton finished the season with a 7-1 record and as the Reelfoot Conference runner-up.
